Volkswagen Caddy Leasing

This MK4 version of Volkswagen's popular Caddy van adds class-leading running costs along with sharper looks and higher specifications to its already impressive list of attributes.
Here’s a van that’s come a long way. Volkswagen’s smallest LCV, the Caddy, has always provided a quality option for buyers seeking compact load-carrying business transport. These days though, rivals are claiming that too. Hence the need for this fourth generation Caddy model, a design that aims to set benchmarks in efficiency, safety, convenience, comfort and technology. And yes, in quality too. In almost every way, we’re told, it’s a van that can.

Why Would You Want One?
Volkswagen’s Caddy van has always rewarded buyers looking for the largest breed of compact van with a quality feel and a depth of design engineering often missing from obvious rivals. With a more efficient Euro6 engine range, this fourth generation version adds a very frugal set of running cost returns to the mix, along with sharper looks, extra technology and class-leading safety. As a result, a VW Caddy lease makes sense if you’re looking for something Citroen Berlingo, Renault Kangoo or Ford Transit Connect-sized.
Give Me the Key Details...
The figures you’ll be quoted when it comes to VW Caddy finance will of course be heavily influenced by your engine choice. The range is primarily based around a Euro6 2.0 TDI diesel powerplant offered in 75, 102 or 150PS states of tune, but only the two pokier units will be available to you if you choose to find the premium that Volkswagen will require if you choose to progress from the standard bodystyle to the longer wheelbase ‘Maxi’ version. With the two higher-output engines, there’s the option of a 6-speed DSG automatic gearbox. Petrol buyers get a range of TSI engines borrowed from the Polo supermini. There’s a base 84PS 1.2-litre unit that only comes with the standard bodyshape, but both bodystyles are served by two pokier green pump engines, a 102PS 1.0-litre option and a 1.4-litre 125PS variant.
Load capacity for the panel van variant is rated at 3.2m3 for the standard model. If you need more, then you’ll need to be looking at the Caddy Maxi variant, which adds 470mm to the vehicle length, increases interior load length to 2,249mm and ups the load volume to 4.2m3. As usual, there’s a wide range of options if you want your Caddy to offer passenger-carrying capability along with package delivery. A ‘Kombi’ variant combines at least 1.6m3 of carriage capacity with space for five people thanks to seating for three passengers behind the driver: fold this model’s rear seat and the carriage space increases to 4.1m3. This derivative is based on the lengthier Caddy Maxi wheelbase - as is the ‘Caddy Window van’, effectively a small mini-bus. Both these variants can be specified with an additional third row of seats, in which guise up to seven people could be accommodated.
The Bottom Line
There are, it’s true, bigger and more affordable vans than this one in the compact LCV sector. We reckon though, that most business buyers in this segment, most of the time, would rather opt for a Volkswagen Caddy lease. And that really says it all.
